Meet Kris

I started my yoga practice in my 20's. Since then, I have added weightlifting and teaching yoga and circuit classes to my resume. I am a National Academy of Sports Medicine Certified Personal Trainer as well as RYT 200 Certified Yoga Instructor.

I have always been physically active, as a child I practiced recreational gymnastics, and as a teenager I ran cross-country and track. It was in high school where I suffered a knee injury in long jump. Since then, my fitness has been challenged due to 4 major surgeries and physical therapy. Because of this, I have the experience and can fully appreciate the journey to physical fitness from what feels like ground zero. I know that with consistent practice we can all move toward our goals. For beginners, it is my hope that you come with the comfort in knowing that we all have been beginners at least once. It is not expected that you can do every pose, but rather, that you try. That you use modifications when needed and give yourself the opportunity to improve. I find that no matter how much time I put into my practice, there is always someone who is further in their practice than me, this motivates me to move beyond my comfort zone, and strive to improve! If you allow yourself to be moved out of your comfort zone you are giving yourself the biggest opportunity for growth and soon what might feel new or awkward will begin to feel right and natural. Be proud that you building your strength, balance, and endurance as well as overall health and longevity every time you show up to practice!

She still enjoys exploring her creative side which has most recently taken the form of designing and building (with help and technical advice from her architect husband) a home gym that allows for yoga, circuit, gymnastics, and weightlifting within one adaptable space.
